We are currently looking for SMSTS Site Managers for work in the Croydon area with a view to move onto further projects across the UK.

The work will be orientated around Natural Flood Management, in channel river works and environmentally sensitive scour protection and re profiling existing watercourses. We are looking for a Site Manager that can work on environmentally sensitive areas, has an understanding on earthwork / plant as well as industry knowledge.

it is important that we get a Site Manager that will travel from project to project after the initial period.

We can take the Site Manager's as soon as the right fit applies, this could mean some initial work of the job handover and understanding the project's.

This may lead to a perm position if you fit well with and likewise for the candidate.

Work will include the following - 

  • With the assistance of PDM (Project Delivery Manager) and wider team, plan, organise and run site set up from HQ &/or WFH
  • Follow drawings to deliver projects to specification
  • Develop project methodologies to improve health and safety standards and programme improvements
  • Attend pre-start meetings to gain a thorough understanding of the clients project requirements
  • Be professional in the approach to clients/customers
  • Carry out risk assessments, prepare and maintain method statements and daily engagement briefings, emergency planning & prepare job packs for site operations team & suppliers
  • Supervise, work with and manage direct workforce, agency operatives, sub-contractors and other on-site activities
  • Source plant & materials as required for site, off hire plant as required with Site Agents, Operations Administrator or the supplier
  • Order plant & materials as required for the site, off hire plant as required
  • Ensure site costs are controlled in line with project budget and plans
  • Carry out site activities to the programme/deadlines
  • Visit sites with colleagues to give advice, opinions & approaches to methods for tenders
  • Comply with the requirement of the company’s Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management systems by compiling, handling & communicating required information
  • Contribute to company learning & continual improvements through feedback, reviews and appraisals
